The SJA is extending its activities again in April, with the staging of the first SJA Cricket Day.
Following the SJA’s Days at the Races in 2008 and 2009, we hope that this will provide an enjoyable sports-related day out for SJA members, their partners and friends.
We have chosen the Sunday League match between Surrey and Lancashire at the Whitgift cricket festival on Sunday April 25.
Taking place in the well-appointed grounds of one of the country’s leading sporting schools, close to the A23 and with South Croydon and East Croydon BR stations nearby, the day – with fingers crossed for fair weather – promises to be a terrific day’s sport, with high scores likely.
We are taking a dedicated SJA table in the restaurant marquee on the boundary’s edge (which can be seen in the distance in the photograph above), where the day will include:
* tea, coffee and biscuits from noon until close of play;
* wine, beer and soft drinks from start of play (12.30pm) until 30 minutes after the last ball is bowled;
* a two-course lunch with service;
* afternoon tea with a selection of sandwiches and cake served around 3.40pm;
* Match ticket, programme and scorecard;
* off-road parking within the school grounds.
Tickets cost £65 (plus VAT) per person, and we hope many will choose to use the day as an opportunity to meet up with old friends and colleagues in a relaxing, convivial setting.
