Telegraph snaps up Chadband

The Telegraph today announced that it has signed up Ian Chadband as its new chief sports correspondent, together with two other key appointments.

Chadband had held a similar post at the London Evening Standard until late last year, when he was made redundant. Now, the former Coventry Evening Telegraph, PA and Sunday Times journalist will be writing for the Daily Telegraph, the Sunday Telegraph and telegraph.co.uk.

Telegraph Media Group also announced that Jason Burt has been appointed deputy football correspondent across all three titles. Burt joins from the Independent where he has worked for more than 10 years.

Meanwhile, Gavin Mairs has been appointed rugby news correspondent. Mairs was formerly rugby correspondent at the Belfast Telegraph and the Yorkshire Post.
