Digital sports journalist Jonathan Turner, one of the founding editors of sportinglife.com, is the new editorial director of digital triathlon company Tri247.
Turner has a wealth of digital publishing experience accumulated over more than two decades. He was the launch editor for cycling’s Team Sky digital platform and was pivotal in growing the brand online. He has a background in covering endurance sports.
He was also betting editor and deputy editor for sportinglife.com, and he played a huge role in establishing that brand from its launch to be one of the UK’s largest sports portals.
The appointment comes on the back of a highly successful 2021, which saw Tri247.com drive audience growth of 400 per cent to become one of the world’s leading digital triathlon brands. It was acquired by Sport Acuity last year along with Run247.com.
Sport Acuity, a provider of consultancy and content services to a range of sports, is utilising its editorial and commercial expertise to develop Tri247.com, which was founded 15 years ago.
John Levison will move into the role of chief correspondent for TRI247.com.
