A rugby union magazine is moving from print to online because of the decline in advertising revenue.
Gary Heatly, editor of Edinburgh-based The Scrum magazine, told All Media Scotland that he is hoping it might be possible, one day, to have the magazine again available in print, as he prepared for the next issue, out a week Friday.
The magazine, launched in August 2007, has a 11,000 print run, with 210 clubs and 190 schools among its subscribers – reflecting its emphasis on grassroots rugby. It is produced monthly and is free.
“We have been delighted with reader feedback so far to the change and we aim to make sure we continue to give the best coverage of grassroots rugby in Scotland,†Heatly said.
