A local newspaper executive will next week take over the running of Football League club Chesterfield.
Carol Wilby was until recently a member of the senior executive team of Wilfred Edmunds Ltd, which publishes the Derbyshire Times.
Her appointment at Chesterfield comes ahead of the club’s move from Saltergate, the club’s home for 139 years, to a new stadium in the Whittington Moor area of the town.
The club said Carol had been brought in “to help drive a rapidly expanding business with additional income streams planned to come from catering, conferences, banqueting, new retail outlets, as well as new ticketing systems and packages appropriate for a family orientated football club”.
