Neil Robinson, sports editor of the Irish Daily Mail, has been recruited to head the sports desk at the Independent on Sunday.
Robinson is to replace Marc Padgett, who after running the Sunday’s sports desk for four years has become deputy sports editor at The Independent.
Robinson, who is in his early 50s, had worked at The Guardian during the 1990s alongside John Mullin, now the IoS editor.
