British Basketball appoints Fast Track agency

British Basketball, whose teams, spearheaded by Luol Deng of the Chicago Bulls, have enjoyed their most successful international season, has appointed Fast Track, the sports marketing agency, to handle its EuroBasket games, commercial, PR and media relations for the next three years as part of its build-up towards the 2012 London Olympics.

Fast Track was established by Alan Pascoe and is now part of the Chime Communications group. In a press release issued today, Fast Track said it won a competitive pitch based around a proven track record for delivery of world-class events and innovative PR plus a strong commercial proposition.

With both the GB men’s and women’s teams achieving promotion into EuroBasket A, British Basketball remains firmly on course to achieve its ultimate goal of London 2012 Olympic qualification.

Simon Tuckey, Commercial Director of British Basketball, said: “I was delighted with the quality of response to British Basketball’s tender for commercial services and am now really looking forward to working with Fast Track to find brand partners who can gain from an association with our internationally successful, exciting and attractive sport.”

The British men’s and women’s teams begin their international campaign later this year, the women playing Ukraine on August 13 and Lithuania August 20 (at home), with the men, likely to feature Deng, playing Israel on September 3 and the Czech Republic (at home) on September 6.
