From the World Curling Federation
The World Curling Federation has launched its 2013-2014 Trainee Journalist and Photographer Programme which will select four students to join our Media and Communications team at one of two international championship events this coming season.
We are offering one student journalist and one student photographer the opportunity to work as reporters for our Media and Communications team at the European curling championships 2013 which is taking place in Stavanger, Norway in November.
We are also offering another two students, again one trainee journalist and one trainee photographer, the opportunity to work with us at the women’s world curling championship 2014 which is taking place in St John, New Brunswick, Canada, in March.
Flights and accommodation will be paid for along with a monetary allowance for the duration of the event.
This unique opportunity gives students the chance to develop journalistic or photography skills in a practical setting, providing them with vital knowledge and experience which will ultimately help them progress prospective careers within the media industry. With this being an Olympic season, it is certainly an great time to get involved in the reporting of winter sports.
Last year’s trainees have achieved considerable success within the media industry since their time with us. You can read about their experiences as well as details about how to apply for this year’s Programme here: http://www.worldcurling.org/trainee-journalist-photographer-programme-2013-14
