Delhi to use Sheffield students in its news team

Sheffield Hallam University has arranged for 30 of its journalism students to go to India later this month to gain invaluable experience working with the Delhi Commonwealth Games organisers.

The students were chosen to join the press operation team in Delhi after a competitive process. While in Delhi, they will work as part of the Games’ official news service.

University vice-chancellor Professor Philip Jones said covering the Games would be a “wonderful opportunity” for the students.

“Not only will the students benefit from working on an internationally prestigious project, they will also have the opportunity to work in an international setting, which will help them to prepare for working in a global environment when they graduate,” Prof Jones said.
