Tickets are now on sale for the Sports Journalists’ Association’s British Sports Journalism Awards gala night at the London Palladium on Monday, April 27, 2026.

It’s an iconic new venue and an exciting new era for the Awards, which are sponsored by Canon and celebrate excellence in all areas of the UK sports media industry.

Shortlists have now been announced in four sections – Open Media, Writing, Photography, and Broadcast – following deliberations by panels of expert judges.

Among more than 40 categories are those recognising the next generation under the banner of SJA Upcoming Talent.

The SJA Sports Journalist of the Year and the Canon SJA Sports Photographer of the Year winners will be decided by expert panels of judges, choosing from shortlisted entrants in the relevant sections.

The London Palladium in the West End will provide a glamorous and prestigious setting for guests attending the SJA British Sports Journalism Awards.

Doors will open at 7pm on Monday, April 27, for an 8pm start. Every ticket holder will receive a complimentary drink.

All persons entering the theatre, regardless of age, must have a valid ticket.

With a history dating back to 1910, the Palladium is one of the largest theatres in the capital by capacity and has hosted more Royal Variety Performances than any other London venue.

This year, on the last Monday in April, the variety and depth of talent in British sports media will be firmly in the spotlight, as the Journalism Awards gala night enters a new era.
