Samuel honoured at What the Papers Say awards

Martin Samuel, the SJA’s Sportswriter of the Year, was further honoured today at the 50th anniversary What the Papers Say awards, where The Times and News of the World columnist received a similar accolade.

Also at the ceremony at the Cafe Royal in London, Sun sports photographer Richard Pelham was named as WTPS‘s photographer of the year.

At the awards, the Daily Mirror was named as newspaper of the year.

Entries are now open for the 2006 SJA Sports Journalism Awards, with categories for writers, photographers, editing teams, broadcasters and their programmes, and cartoons.
