Help wanted with cancer charity golf day on July 3

Former SJA chairman PAUL TROW appeals for your help with a great cause – and offers you a chance to take part in a charity golf day

Golf day Aug 2010As you probably already know, our charity golf day Swing for Sammy is not taking place this year. After seven years and £112,000 in net funds for cancer-related causes, the event is taking a hard-earned sabbatical.

However, Muswell Hill Golf Club is still hosting a charity golf day on Friday, July 3 and the beneficiaries will be Cancer Research UK and Macmillan Nurses.

To make the day a success, we need prizes, auction items, hole sponsors and, above all, players.

The format is fourball Stableford, best two scores to count per hole with everyone playing off full handicap.

Hole sponsorships cost £125 (£200 for the 1st, 9th, 10th, 17th and 18th) and all prizes will be gratefully accepted. Entry per head is £55 to include 18 holes of golf plus a buffet lunch.

To enter, get an entry form for admin@muswellhillgolfclub.co.uk (with payment on the day). Start time preferences must be clearly indicated.

To donate prizes or hole sponsorships, please contact me at ptrow76780@aol.com, on 07973-862747 or at 3 Clifton Avenue, London N3 1BN.

People who are unable to play but would like to make a donation can do so on uk.virginmoneygiving.com/PhilipTrow.

Thank you, in anticipation, for your generous support.
