Bookings are now being taken for the SJA Autumn Golf Day on Monday September 24 at leafy Muswell Hill GC, one of south-east England’s finest and best tended courses.
The highlight will be the contest for the Phil Sheldon Trophy. The late golf photographer was a popular member of the north London club which is hosting the day for a sixth successive year, and it is hoped that Phil’s widow Gill will again be in attendance to present the trophy.
Last year’s winner, with 35 Stableford points, was Pat Mooney, a former sports editor at the nearby Hampstead and Highgate Express.
As usual, apart from the individual competitions for members and guests, there will also be team, nearest-the-pin and longest-drive prizes.
Golfers of all standards are welcome, and non-SJA members are also encouraged to sign up for the day.
The cost per day per head has been pegged at a bargain £55 and will include an 18-hole round of golf (playing in three-balls), a two-course late lunch, trophies and prizes.
The playing list is now open and all entries should be made to Paul Trow (ptrow76780@aol.com and 07973-862747) by September 19 at the latest.
Please flag up special dietary requirements at the time of booking.
