SJA annual meeting: Apr 15

The 2010 Sports Journalists’ Association annual meeting is to be held at the offices of UK Sport at 40 Bernard St, London, WC1N 1ST (opposite Russell Square Tube) from 12.30pm on Thursday April 15.

This event is restricted to fully paid up members of the SJA only. All members are encouraged to attend, and a light lunch and refreshments will be available after the meeting.

To fulfil security requirements of our hosts, please signal your intention to attend the AGM by emailing the Hon Secretary Steven Downes by 10am on April 14.


The meeting will be asked to consider the following amendment to the Association’s constitution, as proposed by the committee:

3, Membership

Paragraph 4: Any member whose subscription has not been paid within four months of the due date (the due date being January 1 in each calendar year) may have his or her membership lapsed. One month’s notice of intention to lapse shall be sent to the member.

The following are standing for election:
Chairman: Barry Newcombe
Vice-chairman: David Walker
Treasurer: Randall Northam
Secretary: Steven Downes

General committee (a maximum of eight): Philip Barker, Ian Cole, Ben Clissitt, Mary Fitzhenry, Jim Munro, Stuart Robinson, Steve Rose, David Welch
