UEPS, the European sports journalists’ association, is staging a special seminar of football journalism in Lyon, France from February 10-12, and invites SJA members to attend.
The UEPS Board has invited some distinguished football journalists to speak at the seminar, in addition to leading UEFA and French officials.
The seminar’s organising committee will cover accommodation costs (with full board) and participation fee. Tennis registered a double success in our annual poll conducted among our 48 member federations with Swiss star Roger Federer winning the Frank Taylor Trophy for the 2007 UEPS Sportsman of the Year and Belgiumâ€™s Justine Henin-Hardenne capturing the Evgen Bergant womenâ€™s award.
The UEPS Board, accompanied by Executive Committee member Rik Lamoral, president of the Belgian Sportspress Association, officially opened the new UEPS headquarters in Brussels on January 4.
Our Belgian colleagues, secretary-general Jos Segaert, vice-president Dominique Delhalle, Financial Director Christian Hubert and Geert Paternoster, who will act as the UEPS headquarters permanent secretary, took part in the ceremony.
The building is ideally located within 15 minutes of Brussels airport and the city centre and consists of a meeting room and a fully-equipped office. The headquarters will begin functioning on September 1.
