UK Sport quarterly briefing

UK Sport now holds a quarterly performance media briefing to keep the media up-to-date with progress on the road to 2012.

The next such briefing is at UK Sport’s offices at 2pm on Tuesday May 8.

We have arrived at a particularly key moment, one year on from the creation of a single performance pathway for Olympic and Paralympic sport and a substantial additional investment of funding to help achieve our ambitions for success at London 2012.

We are also just 15 months away from the Beijing Games and therefore embarking on a critical summer season that will help determine the scale and nature of the teams that will compete in China.

We would like you to join us to discuss the progress that has been made, and in particular how we intend to improve the way in which we monitor the progress of sports and resolve any issues that may prevent them from achieving their performance ambitions in 2008 and 2012.

John Steele, Liz Nicholl and Peter Keen will be on hand to lead the briefing and we are delighted that Richard Caborn will also be joining us to provide his perspective on the progress that has been made in the last year.

Please let me (matthew.crawcour@uksport.gov.uk) know if you will be able to attend.
