Analysis of UK Sport’s Performance Strategy for London 2012 and a look ahead for what’s next for high performance sport in the UK
WHAT: This media briefing will provide an opportunity to hear from the team at UK Sport, from government, a sport and a successful athlete about the performance strategy that delivered a top 4 finish and more medals, across more sports at London 2012.
WHEN: Tuesday 14th August 2012. Please arrive at 9.30am for a prompt 10.00am start. There will be an opportunity for one to one interviews following the briefing.
WHERE: UK Sport, 40 Bernard Street, London, WC1N 1ST.
WHO: The briefing will be hosted by Baroness Sue Campbell, Chair of UK Sport, accompanied by Liz Nicholl, Chief Executive, and Peter Keen, Special Advisor for Performance at UK Sport.
The panel will also be joined by Hugh Robertson MP, Minister for Sport and The Olympics, Zara Hyde Peters, former international athlete and CEO for British Triathlon; and Katherine Grainger, the most successful British female rower of all time, winning silver medals at the 2000, 2004 and 2008 and now gold in the women’s double sculls at the London Olympic Games.
