BOA releases details of comms team

From the BOA

The British Olympic Association (BOA) is pleased to announce the Communications Team that will be providing seamless services to Team GB athletes and support staff as well as the media during the London 2012 Olympic Games.

With experience of covering over 35 Olympic Games between them – as well as countless other major international and national sporting events – the Team GB Comms Team is likely to be the most Olympic experienced Comms Team at the London 2012 Olympic Games.

Team GB Chef de Mission Andy Hunt said:

“The commitment and desire that our athletes have put in to preparing for London has been well publicised, but the same can be said for those working behind the scenes for Team GB. We’re exceptionally pleased to have such an experienced group of communications professionals supporting our athletes and assisting the media and I have every confidence they will fully embrace the ‘Better Never Stops’ ethos of the British Olympic Association.”

Team GB Director of Communications Darryl Seibel said:

“Every member of this team understands and appreciates the importance of the work the media does, the demands and pressures under which they work at the Olympic Games. Our goal is to support the media in their coverage of the largest delegation to represent Team GB at the Olympic Games for over a century. Equally we are here to help every British athlete make the most of their moment in the spotlight. We are here to assist 24/7 with the ups and the downs.”

Team GB Director of Media Operations and Services Miriam Wilkens added:

“It is a real privilege to be working with such a talented and experienced team of communication professionals. The interest from the media and general public in the 542 Team GB athletes will be unprecedented and I am confident that we have the right people in the right place to provide athletes with the support needed and media with the services required.”
