Telegraph appoints Garside as golf correspondent

Kevin Garside: new job

Kevin Garside is the Telegraph‘s new golf correspondent.

The appointment was formally announced to Telegraph staff at the end of last week.

Garside replaces Mark Reason, who is leaving the company as his family is emigrating to New Zealand.

Reason’s departure ends a two-generation family association with the newspapers, where his father, John, was a long-time rugby union writer for both titles.

Like Reason, Garside will work across both daily and Sunday titles and telegraph.co.uk.

The move means that there is now a vacancy for a chief sports writer at the Daily Telegraph, surely one of the most prized jobs in Fleet Street.
