SJA’s Chaudhry nominated for achievement award

SJA member Ijaz Chaudhry has been nominated for an award as “Media Person of the Year” at the 2013 Pakistan Achievement Awards.

Belfast-born and based in Birmingham, Chaudhry has widespread experience of covering a range of sports, both as a reporter and as a broadcast pundit.

He is probably best known for his work on cricket, squash and hockey, having written extensively for local newspapers in Britain, Pakistan and Bangladesh, and for Cricinfo, worldhockey.org and Squash Player.

The Pakistan Achievement Awards have been running for five years, “to recognise the contribution that Britons of Pakistani heritage are making towards the economy and progress of Great Britain”.

The winners of the awards will be announced at a gala dinner in central London in November.
