Ken Haskell, the former Sports Editor of the Mail on Sunday and, before that, Deputy Sports Editor of the Daily Mail, has died after a brief illness. He was 82.
I was Ken’s deputy when the MoS was relaunched in 1982 after a disastrous beginning. We worked together until the move to Kensington, when Ken decided – rightly – that enough was enough.
He was a former member of the Association.
The funeral is at the Church of St Peter & St Paul, Clare, Suffolk, on Wednesday, January 23 at 1.30pm, with a Service of Cremation at West Suffolk Crematorium, Risby, Bury St Edmunds at 5pm for those wishing to attend.
