Sport magazine’s French parent folds

Sport, the free weekly magazine handed out at London railway stations, has ceased publication following the collapse of its French parent company, Sport Media & Strategie.

According to a report on MediaGuardian.co.uk, the title has suspended operations and, unless a buyer is found for the British business – which offers a guaranteed circulation to its blue-chip advertisers – the magazine’s 24 staff will be out of work.

The last edition of the magazine, which is distributed by hand each Friday in London, came out on April 3.
