British cycling is to launch a new squad under the banner of 100% ME, UK Sport’s successful anti-doping education programme.
This is a real statement of intent from British Cycling to tackle an issue which has blighted the sport over a number of years.
100% ME was launched in May 2005 to increase understanding of drug-free sport. Almost 20,000 athletes across 40 sports have received anti-doping advice and guidance since then through the programme which is regarded as a benchmark for others to follow by the World Anti-Doping Agency.
WHAT: Photo call/Interview opportunity to mark the launch of the 100% ME cycling team which will take to the track for the first time at the Revolution event at the Manchester Velodrome on Dec 9. The team is made up of riders from Britain’s under-23 academy.
