FA communications chief Bevington on the move

Adrian Bevington, the Football Association’s director of communications is to leave his post after this summer’s World Cup, the FA announced today.

Bevington, 38, joined the FA 13 years ago, and has been in his current role since 2004. During his period in the communications department, Bevington has worked alongside England managers Howard Wilkinson, Kevin Keegan, Peter Taylor, Sven Goran Eriksson, Steve McClaren and Fabio Capello.

After the World Cup in South Africa, he will take on a new role as Club England Managing Director, reporting directly to the FA chief executive, Ian Watmore, and working closely with Michelle Farrer, Director of Club England Team Operations.

The FA will be advertising shortly for the post of director of marketing and communications.
