The South Wales Evening Post is looking for someone to join its busy sports desk.
The team follows newly promoted Swansea City, plus the Ospreys, Scarlets and Glamorgan. We also cover Wales’s national rugby and football teams, village cricket and every level of sport in between.
The successful candidate will have to demonstrate a good knowledge of a variety of sports. He or she will be able to write well, sub accurately and have cuttings to prove it.
We need someone who can watch the Swans or sub grassroots rugby reports, give both tasks equally professional attention and meet strict deadlines every time.
This post would ideally suit an NCTJ-qualified reporter, but we will consider trainees with pre-entry qualifications.
Candidates invited for interview will have to sit practical tests.
An ability to drive is essential, along with a willingness to travel and work weekends, evenings and bank holidays. (Time in lieu is given).
Contact Details: For an application form please email Assistant Editor Cathy Duncan at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Completed forms must be returned by 6pm on Friday July 8.
