SJA offer: exclusive Olympic Park tours

The SJA has secured access to special guided tours of the Olympic Park, exclusively for our members, to take place on August 24 and September 2.

Working together with the media team at LOCOG, the organisers of the 2012 London Olympics and Paralympics, the tours are a tremendous opportunity for SJA members, giving them the opportunity to see first-hand the work that is progressing and how London’s Olympic venues are taking shape.

AUGUST 10 UPDATE: We have closed bookings for the Aug 24 tour. Only a few places remain on the Sep 2 tour. If you want to ensure you don’t miss out, you must book straight away.

Places on the tours are strictly limited, and will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.

The tours of the Olympic Park take approximately one hour.

Visitors access the Olympic Park construction site on board London 2012’s accessible bus and are guided around the major venues under construction, including the Olympic Stadium and Aquatics Centre.

Visitors must remain on the bus, but large windows provide good views across the Olympic Park.

Those attending the tours must have photo ID – driver’s licence or passport – for identification.

The tour dates are:

Monday, August 24, from 2pm

and Wednesday, September 2, from 9.30am.

Applications by email only to Steven Downes, with “Olympic Tour” in the subject line. Your email should include your full contact details and SJA membership number, and must also state which of the tour dates you are applying for (please state if you are able to attend either date).

Further details will be emailed to successful applicants before each tour.
