Back of the net! Sun seeks the new voice of football

Quite remarkable!

The Sun is looking for a new John Motson or David Coleman, with a digital commentary competition in which the prize could be a job commentating on the newspaper’s website’s exclusive Premier League highlights.

Goal! Will your audio commentary test land you the chance of being a new John Motson?

All you have to do is prove you have the voice and the knowledge of the beautiful game.

The Sun has posted three pieces of top action from last season and want the budding Mottys voice the clips in one take on their smartphone or tablet.

“Make it your own style, be yourself, or be whoever you want,” the competition organisers say. “You could go for some South American GOOOOOOAAAAALLLLLL! flair, or keep it straight and informative.

“Once you’ve recorded your clip, upload it via our form and our expert panel will judge the best.

“We have a money-can’t-buy prize: A job as a commentator for The Sun voicing a handful of games at the start of the next Premier League season.

“The clips you commentate on will go out on our great Goals app and our website, and you’ll get paid for your time.”

Entrants have to sign-up for Sun+, the online, pay-walled website, but the first month is free of charge.

Entries closes at 12.15 on August 16, the kick-off time of the first day of the season.
