Danny Reuben has joined the England and Wales Cricket Board as head of team communications, taking up the new post just ahead of the start of the international summer season.
Reuben joins the ECB from Yorkshire County Cricket Club, where he was head of media and marketing for three years.
Reuben has also led communications as media manager and team spokesperson for England Rugby League and led the media operations at Old Trafford during the Olympic football tournament in 2012.
Previously he has also held senior communications roles at Bolton Wanderers and UEFA tournaments.
In a statement to announce the appointment from the ECB, Chris Haynes, the director of communications, said, “The new role of head of team communications will see him lead media management and communication for the England teams and talent pathway. He will be with the England men’s team from the start of the summer series against Sri Lanka.
“With the growing profile of the team, the number of international matches and the clear strategy within the performance team, this new role will see him developing the support for the England teams and managing other media staff in the UK and overseas.”
