CCPR to engage the nation

The 2007 Central Council of Physical Recreation conference is the only platform which brings together all the interests in sport and recreation in the UK. The event, on May 9, is a unique opportunity to absorb and take part in topical debate, to mix with key decision-makers and to take the temperature of the sporting world.

This year’s confirmed keynote speakers are:
Rt Hon Tessa Jowell MP – Secretary of State for Culture, Media and Sport
Mihir Bose – BBC Sports Editor
Sue Campbell – Chair of UK Sport
Caroline Flint – Minister of State for Public Health
Derek Mapp – Chair of Sport England

Set in the five-star luxury of the Grange City Hotel in London, CCPR’s 35th national conference will ask speakers and attendees if the UK is making the most of its potential to engage the nation in sport and recreation.

Could it be doing more? Should we be getting more support? And what, in the build-up to 2012, is preventing the UK from being the most active nation on the planet?

The annual Sports Club of the Year Awards dinner will be held the evening before on May 8, with prizes presented by Sir Bobby Charlton CBE.

If you would like to reserve a place at our Conference download the booking form or email Shyesha Lewis at slewis@ccpr.org.uk for more information.
