Friends of Chris Nawrat invited to meeting, Feb 18

By Pat Leon

It was with shock that we heard of Chris Nawrat’s death at his home in Finisterre, Spain, in December. Chris was buried there two days later with only immediate family and a few friends in attendance.

So to pay our respects and remember old times, some friends and colleagues are organising a memorial drink and buffet at one of his old haunts, the Captain Kidd pub, 108 Wapping Wall, E1W 2NE from noon on February 18.

We are hiring an upstairs room facing the Thames on third floor. Chris had a huge variety of friends in his 66 years. We do not have their email addresses so if you can forward this invitation to others who knew him, please do.

If you have mementos and cuttings of Chris or the things he was involved in – student politics, journalism, film, literature, academia, sport, or whatever – please bring along to share.

And if you are intending to attend, please contact Peter Wilson at peter.wilson04@btinternet.com, so that we can have a handle on likely numbers.
