Book now for SJA’s Autumn Golf Day: Sep 13

Bookings are now open for the SJA’s Autumn Golf Day, being staged at Muswell Hill GC, one of the south-east’s finest and best tended courses, on Monday, September 13.

All standards of golfers are very welcome to attend, even the once-a-summer hacker – the golf is serious, we just don’t take ourselves too seriously – and SJA members are encouraged to bring along a guest or two for this excellent social occasion.

The cost per day per head has been pegged at a bargain £50 and will include an 18-hole round of golf (playing in three-balls), a two-course late lunch, trophies and prizes.

The highlight will be the contest for the Phil Sheldon Trophy. The late golf photographer was a popular member of the north London club which is hosting the day for a fourth successive year, and it is hoped that Phil’s widow Gill will again be in attendance to present the trophy.

Last year’s winner, with a mind-boggling 43 Stableford points, was David Jacobs, a fellow snapper and the former proprietor of the Action Images picture agency (now owned by Reuters).

As usual, apart from the individual competitions for members and guests, there will also be team, nearest-the-pin and longest-drive prizes.

The playing list is now open and all entries should be made to Paul Trow by email or on 07973 862747. Please flag up special dietary requirements at the time of booking.
