Bloomberg Media has hired Clissitt, a former SJA committee member, as its director of digital content “to spearhead a major European expansion”, according to The Guardian.

Bloomberg Media operates by selling data screens to various financial dealers, banks and brokerages, and has expanded into web, print magazines and live events, as well as running its own television channel and radio station.

Clissitt joined the Telegraph as head of sport in 2010 from The Guardian. He was named as TMG’s first director of visual journalism in February this year.

Now, he will have responsibility for Bloomberg Media’s activities across Europe, the Middle East and Africa.

“I have had four very happy years here, and been part of some fantastic achievements working with top-class people,” Clissitt said. “I very much look forward to the next challenge. I am delighted to be joining Bloomberg at such an exciting moment. It is a world-class journalism company with huge resource, range and ambition.”
